The Peak Viewpoint
A cliff-edge platform at 1,351 m beside Mogilitsa, its final metre and a half made of glass. One of the best sunrise spots in the Upper Arda.
The last metre and a half of The Peak is glass. You walk out to the very edge of a cliff above Mogilitsa, the floor turns clear, and the mountain simply drops away beneath your boots. Built in 2020 at 1,351 metres, it faces Mount Kom, Golyam Perelik and the far Snezhanka tower.
It has quietly become the reason many people come to the Upper Arda, and the reason a good few set an alarm for long before light: this is one of the finest places in the region to watch the sun come up. On a clear morning whole villages surface out of the valley below, Arda and Borikovo, Chereshkite and Turyan among them.
You can climb up from Shirok Most, or hire a jeep in the centre of Mogilitsa and let it carry you most of the way. Both routes end at the same edge, and the same held breath before you step onto the glass.
