The Peak Viewpoint

A cliff-edge platform at 1,351 m beside Mogilitsa, its final metre and a half made of glass. One of the best sunrise spots in the Upper Arda.

The Peak viewpoint stands beside the village of Mogilitsa at 1,351 metres above sea level. It opened in 2020, built on the edge of a cliff with the last metre and a half made of glass. It looks toward Mount Kom, Golyam Perelik peak, the Snezhanka tower and the village of Mogilitsa.

Many villages and hamlets are visible from it, among them Mogilitsa, Arda, Borikovo, Chereshkite and Turyan. It has become one of the leading attractions in the Upper Arda region and one of the best places to watch the sunrise.

The walking route is 4.6 km, about 2 hours each way, with roughly 400 metres of ascent, from Shirok Most. There is also an off-road option of about 50 minutes each way, with jeeps for hire from the centre of Mogilitsa.
